Harrisburg, PA – It’s been one year since the Pennsylvania Get Help Now Helpline began taking calls for drug addiction.

The helpline is a toll-free, statewide service that connects individuals seeking treatment for themselves or a loved one to options in their community. The helpline is staffed 24/7, provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Drug and Alcohol Program.

The drug helpline received more than 18,000 calls in the first year, many of them for heroin or opioid addictions. Helpline operators put callers in touch with detox center, recovery support, and other treatment options. They stay on the line while the caller makes an appointment, and they also help find the best addiction help for each caller’s financial situation.

If you’re looking for recovery resources for yourself or a loved one, call the toll-free PA Get Help Now helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357).

live chat option is also available online for those seeking help who may not be comfortable speaking directly to a helpline operator.
