Johnsonburg, PA – A fire caused part of a house in Elk County to collapse early Friday morning.

Just after midnight, fire crews were called out to a home along Harrison Avenue in Johnsonburg. Flames were already coming from the building when they arrived, and a portion of the roof collapsed shortly after.

The Johnsonburg home was vacant at the time, and there were no injuries. 45-year-old Bonnie Biel of Kennett Square is listed as the victim.

Damage is estimated at $100,000, and Biel has insurance. The fire seems to have started near the kitchen, but the cause is still under investigation.
