Sandy Township, PA – Two people were injured after a Jeep lost control on Interstate 80 near the DuBois exit on Monday.

39-year-old Casey Pataki of New Wilmington lost control on the wet roadway and struck a pickup truck driven by 64-year-old David Wagner of Fairmount City.

Wagner and his passenger, 80-year-old Calvin Brocius of Summerville, spun out of control. The pickup truck’s trailer it had been hauling was dislodged, and the truck’s engine caught fire after the crash, which was quickly extinguished by a good samaritan.

A freightliner, driven by 46-year-old Robert Sprowl of Salem, was also involved in the crash but only was bumped slightly when the Jeep lost control.

Wagner and Brocius, who had been in the pickup truck that overturned after being struck, were taken to Penn Highlands DuBois for injuries of unknown severity. No one else was injured.
