Harrisburg, PA – In the ongoing battle against opioid addiction, Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced felony charges against a Scranton doctor for overprescribing 17,504 Oxycodone pills to two patients over a two-year period.
Shapiro says that 60-year-old Dr. Louis Adamo of Lackawanna County was at one point prescribing more than 33 pills a day to just one man, who would later resell at least some of them.
A pharmacy reported the high dosage of opioids to the Attorney General. Shapiro is grateful to the pharmacy employees for speaking up.
