Morris Township, PA – A Clearfield County man has been charged with criminal homicide for Monday night’s deadly shooting in Morris Township.
27-year-old Dustin Thomas of Hawk Run is being held in the Clearfield County Jail without bail.
Although the exact cause and manner of death are still pending results from an autopsy, the death of 36-year-old Brett Bamat of Philipsburg was ruled as a homicide. He died of a gunshot wound to the chest on Monday around 8:30 p.m.

Reports say that both men had been drinking and got into an argument when Thomas was told to go home.
Thomas’ preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 8.
Police also make a correction to a previously released statement. While they had originally said that the shooting happened at 75 Bass Lane in Morris Township, they have corrected the address to 45 Bass Lane.
