Harrisburg, PA – As Pennsylvania will now be allowed to have online gambling, Gov. Tom Wolf says the gambling expansion legislation he signed won’t take away from the amount of tax-collecting profit made from traditional casinos.
Pennsylvania is already the nation’s second-largest commercial casino state. The governor says our state needed revenue to help prop up its operating budget.
The bill makes Pennsylvania the fourth state to allow online gambling.
It also allows the state’s 10 largest casinos to bid for a license to operate a new, smaller casino. Pennsylvanians will also be able to bet at airports and truck stops.
