DuBois, PA – A DuBois man pleaded guilty and was sentenced for fighting with police after he was caught breaking into a DuBois home.
19-year-old Daniel Tejeda will spend four months to one year in jail and one year on probation for aggravated assault and attempted criminal trespass charges. He’ll also have to pay fines and restitution to the DuBois City Police and will take anger management counseling.
The charges stem back to April 1, when police were called out for a burglary in the 200 block of East DuBois Avenue. They found Tejeda standing outside the backdoor of the home, screaming about getting inside.
When police approached, Tejeda allegedly charged at the officers. Then when police attempted to handcuff the man, he became combative. Officers from the City of DuBois called in Sandy Township police to help get control of the situation.
Tejeda allegedly caused minor injuries, including bites and bruises, to three of the officers before they were finally able to handcuff him.
