Centre County, PA – A Centre County judge will be on the other side of the courtroom soon after police say he was driving under the influence.

Judge Thomas Kistler hit a person who was directing traffic at the Penn State vs IUP game on Sept. 30. He hit the man’s ankle and leg but no report was filed because the man wasn’t seriously injured.

However, police later pulled the judge over because he was attempting to go around traffic barricades.

He was found to be driving while drunk, with a blood alcohol content more than two times the legal limit.

Kistler is facing several charges, including two misdemeanors related to DUI.
The case is being handled through the Cambria County system with Senior Judge Charity Nileski to avoid conflict of interest.
