DuBois, PA – A Luthersburg man who was wanted in connection with the Operation Snail Mail drug bust was captured on Tuesday in DuBois.

A concerned citizen tipped off police that 30-year-old Matthew Watson was sitting in a vehicle at the Blinker Light Parkway Sheetz just before 11 p.m.

Officers from DuBois City Police, Sandy Township, and Sykesville Borough worked together to follow the vehicle out of the parking lot and safely do a traffic stop.

Watson was taken into custody without incident. He faces two felony counts of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver.

Watson was placed in the Jefferson County Jail after failing to post $50,000 cash bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 3.

Operation Snail Mail brought down 30 suspected drug dealers in Clearfield, Jefferson, Clarion, Elk and Forest Counties. $1.6 million worth of crystal meth was shipped from Arizona and California to North Central Pennsylvania. The 35 pounds of meth that was sold would equal somewhere between 32,000 and 64,000 doses of the drug that were sold in our area.
