DuBois, PA – The blood drive in honor of two young boys battling cancer in DuBois was a big success yesterday!

Even though the DuBois Area High School Honor Society holds a blood drive twice a year, this one was extra special. The families of 7-year-old Brock Roy and 13-year-old Maddox Hyde had asked that the blood drive be made open to the public so that anyone could donate.

Although the blood donations didn’t go directly to the boys, they’ll be put to use with other patients who are in dire need of life-saving blood in the DuBois area.

About 72 units of blood were given. Since each unit can save up to three lives, 216 people will be able to be helped by these donations.

Thank you to everyone who donated!
