Employees of the Soaring Heights School in DuBois alerted Pennsylvania’s Department of Human Services ChildLine and Abuse registry when they discovered Megan Bartley, a former teacher at the school, was engaged in an intimate relationship with a student.

Further police investigation revealed the relationship was happening while Bartley was teaching at the school.  They obtained an arrest warrant and she is being charged with institutional sexual assault, corruption of minors, and unlawful contact with a minor.  Bartley was taken into custody and transferred to Jefferson County Jail.

Police investigations also discovered Bridget Kruzelak, the victim’s mother, was aware of and permitted the actions of this relationship.  She is being charged with endangering the welfare of children.
