After earlier this year when Karen Whitney announced her retirement as the president of Clarion University, they began the search for a new president.  Guided by Dr. Garry Owens, the selection process will allow the twenty board members to interview the final two candidates and choose the university’s 17th president.

At this time, the vice president of academic affairs, Dr. Todd Pfannestiel, is serving as the acting president but is not a candidate for the position due to state regulations.  Pfannestiel took over following Whitney leaving the position to serve as interim chancellor of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education.

The summer of 2018 is when Clarion’s next president is likely to take office.
