Brookville, PA – The founder and owner of the upcoming medical marijuana grow facility in Brookville says that he will donate 1 percent to the net profits back to the community.

Trent Hartley says that he and his company, Cresco Yeltrah, aim to use medical marijuana to treat or help with symptoms of many conditions, including ALS, autoimmune diseases, cancer, PTSD, or terminal illnesses.

The 46,000-square-foot grow center will be in the industrial park next to the Jefferson County Jail. Hartley says that there will be heavy security and checkpoints, so that not all employees have access to all parts of the facility.

It should open no later than Dec. 20, 2017. State regulations require that it has to be operational 6 months after the date of approval, which was in June.

About 20 employees will work in the grow center for the first 6 to 9 months, then it could expand to about 80 employees by the second year.

He says that by giving at least part of the profits back to Brookville, he wants to continue to be a positive force in the community and the economy.
