DuBois, PA – A DuBois man is facing charges for Medicaid fraud.
33-year-old Shawn Chesley was a behavioral specialist consultant at NHS, a company for children and adults with mental health diagnoses. He reportedly would bill the medical assistance program for services that he had never provided.
Teachers and families of patients say that they rarely saw Chesley, but he often claimed in his paperwork that he had met with them and would even forge their signatures.
Between September of 2014 and February of 2015, Medicaid and other insurance were billed more than $15,000 extra. Chesley received more than $8,500 of that.
Chesley was charged with felony false or fraudulent medical assistance claim and theft by deception, along with a misdemeanor for forgery.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Friday.
