Some tips for avoiding dog bites:
- No one, but especially not children, should pet unfamiliar dogs without asking permission first.
- If a dog looks scared or upset, you should not attempt to pet it.
- You should not approach, touch or play with any dogs who is sleeping, eating, chewing on a toy or bone, or caring for puppies. They are more likely to bite in these situations.
- Owners, if your dog shows signs of aggression towards people, consider enrolling them in behavior classes. Always keep your dog on a leash or behind a fence if they are not indoors.
