Reynoldsville, PA – A motorcyclist had to be flown to the hospital after he hit a deer.

28-year-old Shawn Siverling of Penfield was riding his motorcycle on Reynoldsville Falls Creek Road, just east of Gospel Center Road near Reynoldsville around 6 a.m. Friday.

A deer ran out in front of him, and he was unable to avoid it.

Siverling had significant injuries from the crash. He was flown via STAT MedEvac helicopter to UPMC Altoona.

Siverling had been wearing a full face helmet, eye protection, and proper motorcycle attire, which likely saved him from even worse injuries.
