DuBois, PA – A man making his journey to recovery is also making a physical journey, walking up the east coast, from Panama City, Florida, to Niagara Falls, New York.

Jim Downs, who goes by Big Jim, walked through DuBois and ended in Brookville yesterday as part of his 2,800-mile walk.

He says it’s all about encouraging others. Jim was an addict who says he has turned his life around thanks to God.

After his walk ends in about two weeks, Big Jim plans on starting an addiction recovery center, Camp Redemption, to provide free recovery help from addictions with help from donors.

Visit Big Jim’s website to learn more about his journey and how you can help.
