Harrisburg, PA – As Hurricane Irma approaches the coast, Pennsylvania is sending more Urban Search and Rescue members to the south.

The team will meet in Mobile, Alabama, with other members who have been working in Texas.

Since we don’t have a clear picture of where Irma will hit, the rescue team was sent to Alabama so they can quickly report to anywhere that they might be needed.

A total of 84 search and rescue members have now been deployed. It’s unknown how long the deployment for Hurricane Irma will last.
