Pike Township, PA – The human remains found in the woods last week in Pike Township have officially been identified as 19-year-old Chase Anderson of Curwensville.
Many suspected that the body belonged to Anderson, who had been missing since Aug. 11. Police have taken several suspects into custody who they believe could have been involved in the murder, though they are not releasing any names at this time. Authorities believe this was an isolated crime, and there isn’t any threat to the general public.
Investigators are still determining the exact cause and manner of death. It was difficult to identify the body, and dental records had to be used to know for certain that Anderson was the victim.
Even before the body was identified, the Curwensville community came together to support Chase Anderson’s family with a candle lighting ceremony and fundraiser on Sunday. We’ll keep you updated as the homicide investigation continues.
