Clearfield, PA – A Woodland man was sentenced to state prison for two cases, one for aggravated assault while DUI and another for fleeing from police.
21-year-old Richard Harris IV pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two to five years in state prison.
Harris allegedly admitted to being high on meth when he committed the crimes, and he had been drinking right before the DUI.
In the first case, he reportedly crashed into a 71-year-old woman in another vehicle in Bradford Township in August of 2016. She had a fractured wrist and knee, which left her confined to a wheelchair.
In the second case from this May, Harris allegedly fled from police during a traffic stop near Sapp Brothers Truck Stop near Clearfield. The chase lasted for nearly 13 miles, with Harris going more than 120 miles per hour. He told police that he and his girlfriend had been fighting and that he wanted to die.
Police found suspected marijuana in the car, along with drug paraphernalia, multiple cell phones, a shotgun and a rifle.
