Wharton, TX – Volunteers from the Western PA Red Cross are making their way into the areas surrounding Houston, still providing hot meals and much-needed supplies. We checked in with one woman, Judy, who lost her home in the flood.

Judy Korenek, who lives about an hour south of Houston in Wharton, says she and the rest of the people in her town are left with nothing and are now relying on the kindness of others.

Listen to the full 6-minute interview as Judy describes what happened to her family’s home, how her family was rescued, how the town is reacting, and how the American Red Cross has been helping.

You can continue to help people like Judy by donating to the Red Cross, other organizations that are providing supplies in the aftermath of the hurricane, or the Diapers From DuBois drive, organized by Greg Cranmer, State Farm Insurance.

You can donate at many places throughout town, including our studios at 12 W. Long Ave. in DuBois.

We’ve been overwhelmed so far with the amount of love and support shown by our community.
