DuBois, PA – If you’ve ever been interested in Jiu Jitsu, come to the WPAL center in DuBois on Sunday to learn more and ask questions.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is a grappling-oriented martial art/combat sport. Practitioners utilize techniques, such as superior positioning, leverage, joint locks, chokes and more, to control their opponent.

The free orientation day for the Jiu Jitsu courses will be held this Sunday, Sept. 10, at noon at WPAL DuBois at 37 E. Long Avenue. Future classes will always be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  • 6 p.m. – Fundamentals (14-plus; basic technique demonstration and repetition)
  • 7 p.m. – Adult Class (14-plus; fitness warm-up, drills, sparring)

The class will end between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

Saturdays, there will be an open mat starting at 11 a.m. It is free for members, and non-members can purchase a day pass for $5. The cost is $50 per month for unlimited Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes for anyone, member or non-member. Youth classes are available by appointment only at this time.
