Pike Township, PA – A homicide investigation is underway in Clearfield County after a body was found in a wooded area off of Walker Road in Pike Township on Wednesday.

The identity of the victim and how they died are still being determined, pending an autopsy and dental records.

Identifying the body seems to be proving difficult. Reports say that the suspects took precautions and used countermeasures to make it harder for police to know who the victim is.

Several suspects are currently in police custody. Authorities say this is likely an isolated crime and they do not believe there is any threat to the general public.

Police say that they will release more information as the investigation continues. They say that officers and investigators will not speak to anyone about the case while it’s ongoing.

The investigation is being handled by the Clearfield County District Attorney’s Office, Curwensville Borough Police and investigators from the State Police Barracks in Punxsutawney.
