DuBois, PA – It was an amazing outpouring of love and support when 7-year-old Brock Roy was diagnosed with leukemia recently.

Brock is one of the sons of Assistant Chief Dustin Roy from the DuBois City Police.

Police officers, firefighters, family members, friends, football teams and neighbors shed their long locks for a $10 donation in the DuBois City Park Tuesday night to stand in solidarity with the young boy.

Eddie Walsh was one of the barbers. He says the buzz cuts were a way of everyone standing together as Brock will likely lose his hair during the treatments.

Brock’s grandfather, Ken Bish, says it’s been rough on the family, but Brock is responding well to treatments at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh.

DuBois Chief of Police Blaine Clark says it’s never an option to let another officer struggle in a difficult situation.

Between the event and some early donations, the group raised more than $1,500. Mark your calendar for Sunday, Sept. 17 when they’ll be holding a benefit spaghetti dinner from noon until 6 p.m. at the Falls Creek Eagles.
