A Punxsutawney man is being accused of identity theft and several Megan’s Law violations. Police say that Michael Leonard Lellock used another person’s identity to buy a cell phone on Aug. 23. They got a search warrant on his home and vehicle, where they found many items that they believed were stolen, including the cell phone, documents, credit applications, a bank statement and shipping labels.
Lellock is also listed as a registered sex offender, meaning that he must alert police of all of his addresses and contact information. Police found that Lellock was using three different emails, which he hadn’t listed on his Megan’s Law registration form.
He was lodged in the Jefferson County Jail, with bail set at $250,000. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 6. State police say that additional charges are likely as investigation continues.
