DuBois, PA – The natural gas industry is on the rise again in Pennsylvania, and the Marcellus Shale Coalition shared some of the changes we could see.
A multibillion dollar ethane cracker plant is in the works for Beaver County. They’ll start construction in 2019, but the plant likely won’t open for until about 5 years from now. The new facility would add about 600 more jobs to the area.
The plant would ethelyne into polyethelene, which is used to create plastics.
David Spigelmeyer, president of the Marcellus Shale Coalition, says people often forget that natural gas is about more than just heating.
He sees it as an upswing in the industry after a long downturn.
