Horton Township, PA – The Horton Township Volunteer Fire Department has a new home in Brockport.
The firefighters scrimped and saved for the past 3 years to afford the $140,000 station, which was officially dedicated and blessed on Sunday.
Part of the reason for moving is response times. With many Horton Township residents living in the south part of the area, it no longer made sense to have the station farther north.
The new building is also right off of Route 219, so fire trucks can get on the highway more quickly.
The fire crew says that they’ll be able to respond about 10 minutes faster on average.
