Bell Township, PA – The fire marshal is still investigating what caused a fire that destroyed a home near Mahaffey.

The fire started at the single-story home along Colonel Drake Highway in Bell Township around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

There were no injuries. The victim, 65-year-old Robert Litz, and his family were out of town on vacation when it happened.

Damage is estimated at about $35,000. The cause is still under investigation. If you have any information or were in the area when the house caught fire, please call State Police in Punxsutawney or Ridgway.
