Clearfield, PA – A Glen Richey man was reportedly caught with meth and a gun at the Clearfield County Fair. 32-year-old Creagan Powell waived his right to a preliminary hearing.

Police were patrolling the Clearfield County Fair on Aug. 4 when they saw Powell, who was staggering and acting strangely.

When asked if he had illegal drugs on him, Powell began to pull items from his pockets but kept something in his hand. The officers feared that it was a weapon.

They restrained Powell and searched him, during which he admitted that he had a gun, a loaded .380 Ruger LCP. Powell says that the gun was only for personal protection and that he wasn’t planning on harming anyone.

Police also found a metal box in his pocket that contained four small clear bags of methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia. He says that the meth was for his personal use.

Powell is facing felony charges of carrying a firearm without a license, plus misdemeanors for intentional possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness. His bail has been set at $50,000.
