Pennsylvania – With the summer coming to a close soon, you’re probably busy. Last minute vacations, school shopping, get-togethers with friends. But the need for blood donations doesn’t take a vacation.
In fact, summer is a time when most people don’t think about donating blood to the Red Cross, leaving hospitals in desperate need.
You could help prevent this shortage! Even if you donated earlier this summer, you might be eligible to do so again. Blood can be safely donated every 56 days, and Power Red cells can be donated every 112 days.
As a special thank you, those who come out to give blood or platelets with the Red Cross now through Aug. 31 will be emailed a $5 Target eGiftCard. Just schedule an appointment by visiting RedCrossBlood.org or downloading the free Red Cross Blood Donor App or calling 1-800-RED-CROSS.
