Clearfield, PA – A landfill could be coming to the Clearfield area, even though it was denied two years ago. Now PA Waste LLC is back with another permit application, proposing to build the Camp Hope Run landfill.

If approved, it would sit along Route 153 in Boggs Township. It’s a relatively rural area, but people are still not happy to have a landfill proposed for their neighborhood.

The Department of Environmental Protection had originally denied the company’s application in 2015 due to many technical shortcomings in the project’s plans.

The DEP will now start a 60-day review of the new plan and will try to determine if the previous problems have been addressed.

After that, the Clearfield County Commissioners will hold a public meeting for anyone to speak their mind about the landfill. No date has been set for the meeting yet.
