Pittsburgh, PA – The city of Pittsburgh came in third place in an informal survey of the best big cities to live in. According to a WalletHub survey, Virginia Beach came in the top spot, followed by Seattle.
How were they ranked? Analysts looked at the 62 largest cities in the United States, with populations of at least 300,000. They examined 50 different indicators of being a good city, from the rate of crime to the cost of living.
Although Pittsburgh was one of the smallest big cities, coming in at a population of just 303,625 in comparison with millions of residents in New York, the city performed well.
Pittsburgh ranked highly for its economy, quality of life, safety and education.
Meanwhile on the other side of the state, Philadelphia came in 44th out of 62 cities. Although Philly had high scores for health and education and safety, the other scores were relatively low.
Remember, these are just the results of an informal survey done by WalletHub, and they only rank the biggest cities in the country.
