Bell Township, PA – A Punxsutawney man is facing charges of aggravated assault after he allegedly fought with the victims after rear-ending their vehicle.

41-year-old Joseph Edwards reportedly struck the rear of the victims’ vehicle around 6:20 Thursday afternoon on Route 36 near Pine Tree Road in Bell Township, Clearfield County.

27-year-old Steven Rura of Indiana, 22-year-old Riley Merlo of Vandergrift and a 2-year-old girl from Vandergrift were all inside of the vehicle that was rear-ended.

After the crash, two other people from Punxsutawney arrived at the scene in a separate vehicle. 25-year-old Justin Mock of Punxsutawney and 27-year-old Amanda Edwards of Punxsutawney are both listed as suspects in the case. Police say that Mock and Amanda Edwards subjected two of the three victims to unwanted physical contact.

Joseph Edwards was already charged through the district court, but more charges are pending.
