DuBois, PA – An Olanta woman who is accused of threatening to shoot her husband has waived her right to a preliminary hearing.

48-year-old Julie Mease was originally charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person for the incident on June 30. However, the terroristic threats charge has been withdrawn.

The charges come from an incident on June 30 when police were called out to the couple’s home in Olanta for an argument. Mease allegedly went to her bedroom and got a Smith and Wesson Governor .45 Colt revolver.

Police say that she fired one round from inside the home through an open door toward the road. She then allegedly pointed the gun at her husband and told him that she would kill him if he didn’t leave. The husband left the home.

When police arrived at the scene, the woman was not there. Police took Mease into custody when she came back to the home.

They found the gun in her truck, with six rounds in the revolver. Mease told police that she had taken out the spent cartridge and put in another round. The spent cartridge was found in a garbage can.

Mease’s bail was set at $25,000 unsecured. There’s no word on when her sentencing will be.
