Bell Township, PA – A man riding a motorcycle was flown from the scene with head injuries early Sunday evening after he crashed into a deer in Bell Township, Jefferson County.

68-year-old Edward Hamilton of Bellwood was riding his 1984 Harley Davidson FLH south on Route 36 when he struck a deer that had entered the roadway. The motorcycle slid for several feet before finally coming to a stop.

Police say that Hamilton was not wearing a helmet. He suffered a minor head injury and was flown to UPMC Altoona by STAT MedEvac helicopter.
