Chester Hill, PA – A fire early Sunday morning in Chester Hill Borough has been ruled as arson.
State Police in Clearfield say that a neighbor who was leaving for work discovered the fire at 4:30 a.m. Sunday along Laura Street in Chester Hill.
Firefighters had to force entry into the home. Once they were inside, they found a fire in the kitchen in the rear of the home on the first floor, as well as in the master bedroom near the front of the home on the second floor.
A PA State Police Fire Marshal was called in to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. The marshal determined that the fire was intentionally set.
State Police say there wasn’t anyone at home at the time of the fire department’s arrival.
