Brookville, PA – A North Carolina man was arrested late Wednesday night after causing a scene at the Hour Glass Bar in Brookville. Employees called police to the bar to handle the unwanted and intoxicated man.
Police say Garland Harris III of Wilmington, NC, seemed uneasy, fidgety, and wouldn’t sit still. He would not identify himself or tell police what had happened.
State Police from Punxsutawney came to help, and Harris became even more upset. He allegedly attempted to run from police.
He was eventually stopped and was ordered to put his hands behind his back. He reportedly refused to do so and didn’t comply with many other commands given by officers.
Police say they had to us a taser to get Harris under control. He was taken to the Brookville Hospital for an evaluation and was later lodged at the Jefferson County Jail.
Harris is charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
