Falls Creek, PA – Over the past month, the people at Steeple Furniture in Rockton have proven themselves to be real animal lovers. Steeple Furniture teamed up with their customers to help out the Gateway Humane Society!
Sherri Ball from Steeple Furniture says that plenty of customers heard about the fundraiser through Steeple’s Hometown Hope advertising on Sunny 106 and Connect FM. Sherri and the rest of the employees were proud to see the donations start to pile up.
Steeple Furniture’s customers brought in about $300 worth of pet food and $144 in monetary donations. Steeple themselves matched that donation with another $400 to the Gateway Humane Society!
The donations all go to the Gateway Humane Society in Falls Creek. They’re a no-kill shelter that takes in unwanted, abandoned and stray pets, takes care of their medical needs, and tries to match them with their new forever homes.
Linda Peterson, kennel supervisor at the Gateway Humane Society, says donation drives from places like Steeple Furniture are part of the reason why the shelter can still exist.
The Gateway Humane Society was chosen by Steeple Furniture to be the May recipient of the Hometown Hope broadcasting grant, which rewards local nonprofits for their outstanding commitment to our community. A big thank you to Steeple Furniture of Rockton for highlighting the Gateway Humane Society this month and helping them out with a pet food drive.
Steeple Furniture will be helping out the WPAL Boxing and Fitness Center in June for Sunny 106’s Hometown Hope program, so keep listening because during this month we’ll be talking about another great opportunity to help out your community.
